In 1927, he perfectly performed Kazakh songs at the Moscow Conservatory. By participating in a concert held in the German city of Frankfurt, the singer once again opened Kazakh songs to the world. At 22, he was the youngest participant in the history of the show, and competed against professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a ‘wildcard’ competitor. Kudaibergen’s mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition.

He won Episodes 1, 2 and 6, with his performances of "SOS d’un terrienendétresse", "Opera 2", and "Adagio", respectively. He eventually made it to the finals, and finished as runner-up to Hong Kong singer Sandy Lam.

For Episode 7, Kudaibergen decided to perform traditional Kazakh folk song "Daididau".[86] In an interview, his mother stated that it was his childhood dream to perform a traditional Kazakh song in a world-class competition. His performance of "Daididau" was received positively and sparked interest in Kazakh music and culture in China.
